Last week, W.R. Croman Elementary School celebrated Read Across America with a spirit week, a reading competition, and their exciting prize giveaway assembly on Friday. Each classroom combined the total amount of books read by each student, and whichever classroom collectively read the most books per grade won a popsicle party.
For every book read by each individual student, a ticket was earned for a chance to win one of the many fun prize options. The more tickets they earned, the more chances they had to win a prize. Prizes ranged from kinetic sand and model plane sets to full-size bikes donated by local businesses! The spirit week days included Mis-Match Monday, Top Hat Tuesday, Oh The Places You’ll Go Wednesday (dress like what you want to be when you grow up), Pajama Day Thursday, and Crazy Sock Friday.
