UPMC Susquehanna – Friends Campaign
Today’s broadcast features our latest edition of UPMC Susquehanna. You can find the UPMC Susquehanna channel on our left side navigation bar under Special Features.
Friends of Soldiers + Sailors are very grateful for the dedicated support of donors who are turning healthcare dreams into reality right here in Tioga County.
On today’s program, Home Page has the opportunity to visit with representatives from the Susquehanna Health Foundation as well as UPMC Susquehanna about this new campaign.
Gift Officer Stephanie Steinbacher of the Susquehanna Health Foundation said that Friends of Soldiers and Sailors share a special commitment to UPMC Susquehanna by making an annual one hundred dollar membership fee donation that is used to help provide vital equipment for Soldiers and Sailors.
In the past Friends of Soldiers and Sailors have made it possible to purchase equipment such as baby warmers for the obstetrics unit, blanket warmers and glide scopes for the emergency department, operating room lights, physical therapy equipment, women’s health equipment, and more.
Stephanie says that our hospital thrives on community support and that they can not serve the people who live in our region without ongoing donations. Stephanie went on to say that the best part about her job is matching the needs of the hospital with the people who are passionate about funding local high-quality health care. This year Friends of Soldiers and Sailors are committed to purchasing an operating table.
UPMC Susquehanna and Susquehanna Health Foundation are non-profit organizations that rely heavily on community donations. Both Citizens & Northern Bank and Truck-Lite are offering a match donation of 25% up to $9,000 at this time for every financial gift that the community donates. Your gift will help Friends of Soldiers and Sailors meet that goal fo $45,000 toward one of these new operating tables.
During the second half of today’s broadcast, we find out about that new operating table and its capabilities. Ben Weiskopff, Manager of Surgical Services, gives details on the differences between the operating-tables in current use and the new operating-tables that will be coming soon. Please take a few minutes to watch today’s broadcast.
If you would like to donate to help cover the cost of these new operating tables you can contact the Susquehanna Health Foundation at 888-322-0945, 570-320-7460 or visit UPMCSusquehanna.org/Donate.
