Upcoming Fun at Strohecker Vision Care

by Sara Vogt - August 2, 2018

Strohecker Vision Care in Mansfield, PA is hosting two fun and informative events this month for children and their families. The first of these events is on Friday, August 3 from 8am-5pm. Strohecker Vision Care will be handing out free slices of watermelon to those who stop at their office.

On this broadcast, Home Page correspondent, Olivia Ryan, first spoke with Dr. Lindsay Kibler about their inspiration for celebrating National Watermelon Day. She informed us of the remarkable health benefits of watermelon. This fruit is an excellent source of vitamin A which helps your retina make carotenoids. These carotenoids are very important to keep the retina healthy preventing macular degeneration.

Their second happening this month is Kids Day which will be on August 17 from 4pm-6pm. Kids Day is an opportunity for optometrists and staff to discuss with children and their families the importance of eye care. There will be games, food, demonstrations, prizes and more. Kids may even bring a stuffed animal to have its eyes checked!

For more information on either event, please check out their Facebook page and website.

More on Dr. Lindsay Kibler:
Dr. Kibler joined the team at Strohecker Vision Care in 2012 after earning her Doctorate of Optometry. She grew up in the small town of Varysburg, NY. Dr. Kibler attended Canisius College and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. Then she went on to Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia before settling in Mansfield. She is a member and President of the Northern Optometric Society.
