True Or False Tree Trivia with Chris Firestone

by Sara Vogt - May 11, 2022 / Originally aired April 12, 2022

Pennsylvania is the only state in the nation named for its forests. “Pennsylvania” translates from Latin to “Penn’s Woods.”

So it just seemed natural to have Chris Firestone back in the Home Page studios!

DCNR botanist and ecologist Chris Firestone asked three tree trivia questions on this fun broadcast!

How much do you know about tree buds? Her questions are as follows:

  • All buds on trees are leaf buds? TRUE OR FALSE
  • Buds on the trees all burst or open at the same time? TRUE OR FALSE
  • Leaf buds always burst before the flower buds? TRUE OR FALSE

If you do not know the answers to these questions, please watch the broadcast video to learn more about the beautiful trees surrounding us.
