Troy Runners Shine Despite Mixed Team Results in Tri-Meet
On Tuesday, September 23, the Troy Trojans cross country team hosted Sullivan County and Cowanesque Valley for a hard-fought tri-meet on their home course.
In boys competition, the Trojans impressed with a pair of decisive victories—defeating Sullivan County, 22–37, and rolling past CV, 18–45. The girls team battled hard but came up short, falling to Sullivan, 16–39, and narrowly dropping a close race to CV, 25–30.
The meet also featured standout individual performances on both sides. On the girls’ side, Zoey Reese crossed the finish line first with a time of 22:29, followed closely by Addison Templin (22:56). Paige Jordan (23:15), Natalie Yonker (23:34), and Lainey Hackett (23:40) rounded out the top five.
For the boys, RJ Bellinger led the pack with a winning time of 18:36. Carter Blasp secured second place in 18:57, Frank Harper claimed third at 19:05, Calen Sweigart grabbed fourth at 19:13, and Hunter Simones completed the top five in 19:43.
The Trojans will look to carry their momentum into the weekend as they head to the prestigious McQuaid Invitational on Saturday.
