Troy Rallies To Top Mansfield, 61-53
The Troy Trojans rallied from a 32-25 halftime deficit to top North Penn-Mansfield, 61-53, in Mansfield on Saturday, February 5.
The Trojans held a 17-15 lead after the opening quarter but the Tigers outscored the visiting Trojans 17-10 in the 2nd to take a lead into the locker room. Troy, however put together a 17-7 3rd quarter to regain the lead at 42-39 heading into the final quarter. North Penn-Mansfield tied the game back up at 43-all early on in the 4th and after a Ty Barrett layup, they retook the lead at 46-45 on a Sam Lawrence three-pointer with under five minutes to play.
With under two minutes remaining the Trojans’ Mason Imbt made a layup to put Troy back up three at 51-48, which they would keep for the remainder of the game.
Troy shot 18-for-25 on the evening, with the majority of those shots coming in the 4th. Barrett shot 11-for-13 from the line to lead all scorers with 28 points. Imbt finished with 8 and Ethan VanNoy added 5.
Karson Dominick led the Tigers with 18 points, Brody Burleigh finished with 11 and Alex Davis added 10.
Troy improves to 14-3 (10-1 in the NTL Large School Division) after the win while the Tigers fall to 10-6 (7-5 NTL Large School Division). Both teams are back on the court tonight as the Tigers host Northwest Area and Troy travels to Northeast Bradford.
