The Guthrie Troy Community Hospital has surpassed their fundraising goal of $100,000 to bring Contrast-Enhanced Mammography to the local community. To celebrate this momentous achievement, the thermometer graph was filled to the top right in downtown Troy last Friday, October 10th.
Radiology/Mammography Department Manager Pam Sherman stated that the Guthrie Troy Community Hospital is hoping to get this new technology up and running by December of 2025.
“This is gonna bring so much, not only just to the Troy community, but all of the surrounding areas. This does not exist anywhere else in this region, so being able to provide this here is just wonderful,” says Lori Smith.
“When we talk about a community hospital, I really think we embody that here at Guthrie Troy community Hospital,” says Director of Operations and Nursing Services Amber King. “We have seen a tremendous turnout of donations, support, volunteerism- It’s not just about the monetary donation, there’s a lot of time and investment that goes into it as well- time away from family, time to support your community, all of that is valuable, and we appreciate all of that.”
