Trojans top Hornets In 71-54 Nail Biter
On Tuesday, January 14 the Wellsboro Hornets boys basketball team hosted the Troy Trojans for an absolute nail biter.
Wellsboro got on the board first off a basket from Mitchel Lechler. But Troy pulled ahead quickly with an 10 point lead. Wellsboro answered back immediately and by the time the buzzer sounded, Troy only led by one point, 14-13.
Both teams rallied again in the second quarter, with Troy rounding out the half still out in front, 32-27.
The Trojan wall holds strong to finish the third quarter with a 10 point lead, 51-41.
Ultimately, Troy would close out the game – getting into stride and overpowering the Hornets. By the end of regulation the Trojans held a decisive 17 point lead, claiming the night 71-54.
The Hornets will be on the road on Thursday to face the Athens Wildcats, while the Trojans travel to North Penn-Mansfield.
