Trojans Prepare for Another Triumphant Season

by Erik Berggren - August 15, 2025

After a stellar performance in 2024, the Troy Trojans’ fall varsity programs are hoping to carry that momentum into the 2025 season. Teams have recently been hard at work with preseason practices designed to work the muscles and refresh the mind.
Troy boys soccer finished the 2024 season with an overall record of 2 wins and 16 losses, but the team’s season ended on a high note with a conference win against Towanda’s Black Knights. This season, head coach Dane Seeley, in his second year leading the program, hopes to lead the team back up above .500.

Troy girls soccer had a markedly better 2024, with an overall record of 17 and 2. The team has steadily improved its standing over the years and was undefeated in the Northern Tier League last season. This year, head coach Wayne Pratt hopes to achieve a repeat of that success with the help of a seasoned squad.

Troy volleyball came out of 2024 with a record of 24 wins, 3 losses, and 1 draw. Troy volleyball was also undefeated in conference games last year, and head coach Abigail Herman-Deitrick hopes to keep up the pressure into the 2025 season.

Last, but certainly not least, Troy football finished last year as the history-making 2024 PIAA Class 2A state champions. The team was undefeated with 16 wins, which included retaining the Old Shoe in its rivalry matchup against Canton. The Trojans are the team to beat in 2025, but it’s back to basics for head coach Jim Smith as he stresses the importance of humility and hard work.
