Trojans Explode Early, Cruise Past Black Knights 17-4
The Troy Trojans wasted no time setting the tone Friday, April 3rd, using a massive first inning to power past the Towanda Black Knights in a decisive 17-4 victory.
Troy’s offense came alive immediately, sparked by Garrett Parks, who ripped a double to bring home Hunter Watson for the game’s first run. Moments later, Josiah Pesesky delivered with a line drive to left field, scoring Parks and keeping the momentum rolling. Pesesky would later take advantage of a Towanda miscue, stealing home as part of a relentless stretch on the basepaths.
The Trojans capitalized on nearly every opportunity in the opening frame, piling up runs with aggressive base running and timely hitting to jump out to a commanding 9-1 lead.
Towanda responded in the following inning, showing some fight at the plate. Harper Welles knocked an RBI single to third, and Jason Wickwire followed with a deep fly ball to right-center that plated two runs, briefly cutting into the deficit.
However, Troy quickly regained control, continuing its offensive surge and adding eight more runs to put the game well out of reach. The Trojans’ early explosion proved more than enough, as they rolled to a convincing 17-4 win on their home field.
