Trojans down NP-Mansfield in District opener
TROY — The Troy Trojans opened up district play with a 58-42 win over North Penn-Mansfield at home on Thursday, Feb. 24.
The Tigers kept the game close after the first quarter trailing the Trojans 9-6.
Troy then used their fast break offense to break open the game scoring 21 points in the second quarter.
It was all Troy the rest of the way as they scored 28 second half points to move on the second round of District play.
Ty Barrett led the way for Troy with 21 points. Ethan Vannoy hit three- 3-pointers on his way to 15 points. Mason Imbt added 12 points and Justice Chimics chipped in with five.
Karson Dominick had 16 points to lead the Tigers and Brody Burleigh added 11. Alex Davis scored six and Sam Lawrence dropped in five.
The loss ends the Tigers season but the future is bright as they return most of their core next season, something most of the NTL cannot say.
Troy moves on and will await their next opponent with that match more than likely coming early next week.
