Tigers Take Over Towanda: NP-Mansfield Dominates Three-Team Track Meet

by Wyatt Wood - April 1, 2026

After days of rain, the skies finally cleared in Towanda last Tuesday—setting the stage for a strong showing by the North Penn-Mansfield Tigers, who delivered a dominant performance against the host Towanda Black Knights and the Canton Warriors.
In sprint action, Towanda’s Jazick Brown provided a highlight for the home crowd, capturing first place in the boys 100-meter dash. North Penn-Mansfield’s Layne Cummings and Jeremiah Lawrence followed closely behind to round out the top three.
Distance events, however, belonged entirely to the Tigers. In the girls 1600-meter run, North Penn-Mansfield swept the podium with Leila Garverick, Moira Wheeler, and Alivia Lisowski finishing first through third. The boys 1600 mirrored that effort, as David Graf, Mason Forer, and Luke Chakraborty secured another clean sweep for the Tigers.
North Penn-Mansfield continued to shine in relay competition. The Tigers’ Team A claimed victory in the girls 4×100-meter relay, followed by Towanda and the Tigers’ Team B. On the boys side, North Penn-Mansfield proved untouchable, taking both of the top two spots in the 4×100 relay.
The Tigers’ dominance extended into the 400-meter dash events as well. Jaci Fairchild led a North Penn-Mansfield sweep in the girls race, finishing ahead of teammates Marin McCarthy and Kara Barrett. In the boys 400, Charles Aumick paced another Tiger sweep, with Michael Knefley and Braden VanLoon taking second and third. Canton’s Lawrence and Manuel Halbfoerster followed in fourth and fifth.
When the final scores were tallied, North Penn-Mansfield stood firmly on top in both the boys and girls competitions, with Towanda finishing second and Canton placing third.
