The Miracle of Caleb Benefit Fundraiser
On December 5th 2024, 8-year-old Caleb Roof was simply playing in the snow outside when the unthinkable happened: he fell through the ice and was under cold water for 177 minutes. The longest anyone had survived cold water drowning before Caleb was 83 minutes. Despite the incredible efforts of over 200 people from family members to emergency crews, Caleb was not recovered for over two hours. He was quickly flown to Geisinger for stabilization before being transferred to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where he has remained on life support and has been making progress every single day.
Miracles For Caleb is a nonprofit group led by Jim Buckley that is working with the Canton Moose Lodge in order to raise funds for Caleb Roof’s hopeful recovery. This Sunday, February 9th, the Canton Moose Lodge and Miracles For Caleb are hosting a benefit fundraiser. The event will be held from 12-4 pm. Donations will be collected at the door. The day includes a 50/50 basket raffle and a chicken and biscuit meal. Ticket drawing will begin at 3 pm.
If you are unable to make it to this Sunday’s benefit, please still consider donating cash to Caleb’s Fund at the Moose Lodge or by going to First Citizens Community Bank and donating to Caleb Roof’s Fund.
Thank you to everyone who is helping make the miracle of Caleb possible. Your support is tremendously appreciated in the effort to bring Caleb home.
