The Memorial Day Fly-In Breakfast
Pancakes were flipped, maple syrup was sold, and planes from all over the region landed at the Wellsboro Johnston Airport for the annual Memorial Day fly-in breakfast on Sunday, May 29, 2016. Thousands of visitors and residents alike drove (or flew!) in to partake in a delicious breakfast held in the brand new hangar, experience thrilling plane rides over the gorgeous views of Tioga County, and even get an inside-look at some of the creative model planes built by the Mountain Modelairs Club.
While Homepage correspondents, Johanna Vogt and Lauren Gooch, were hovering over the Grand Canyon, they found out some exciting news for those looking to experience this adventure for themselves (watch the video above to see Lauren’s first flying lesson!). Airport manager, Craig Musser, spoke about the opportunities for others to get a taste of aviation. Plane rides and lessons are available by calling the airport at (570) 724-3746.
Some of the proceeds from this breakfast are used to support scholarships given by the Canyon Pilots Association. High School sophomores and juniors who are interested are encouraged to contact the airport at the number listed above. More information can also be found here.
The next fly-in breakfast will be held the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. Don’t miss these incredible opportunities to see Tioga County from a new perspective and share a tasty breakfast with family and friends. For more information, contact the airport at (570) 724-3746, or visit their website here.
Thanks for watching!
