The Classic Car Cruise-In

by Amiee Jones - July 6, 2018

Each Thursday evening of the summer, a festive, unique event takes place in the heart of Mansfield. From 5-8pm, people venture to the First Citizens parking lot for food, music, and of course, cars! The “Classic Car Cruise In” is a fun summer opportunity for the community to enjoy.

A group of like-minded car enthusiasts has created the event. How does it work? Car owners bring their prize rides, and fill the parking lot with a wide variety of vehicles from different time periods. There is no requirement for what town or county the cars come from, so the community of car owners represents a widespread region. The Cruise In gives these self-proclaimed motor heads a chance to get together and talk shop.

The weekly event also provides the Mansfield community the chance to meander the parking lot and enjoy the assortment of automobiles. Food is always available, sometimes in the Episcopal Church kitchen, and other weeks catered by My Brother’s BBQ. And, music pumps through the lot, provided by the local classic hit station, WOGA. The Cruise In delivers a real small town, festive feel when the crowds, cars, music and good food all come together.

The “Classic Car Cruise In” is another great option for a local activity. Be sure to take advantage of this weekly event, as it will only be around for the summer months! Every Thursday evening from 5-8, in the First Citizens parking lot, check out the striking cars and good times, right here in Mansfield!
