The 74th Annual Laurel Festival!
Today on Wellsboro Home Page we recap this past Saturday’s Laurel Festival events. We would be remiss not to take a moment here to thank our Wellsboro Area Chamber of Commerce. Thanks to Executive Director Julie VanNess, Chamber President Marsha Chesko, Chamber Events Coordinator Lauren Morral and all the Chamber staff for the huge amount of time and dedication it takes to host this special event.
It was a wonderful week packed full of activities and special family fun. It actually all started with Family Day and train rides on the Tioga Central Railroad back on Saturday, June 13th. This event was followed throughout the week with a pet parade, a Mark Twain Reenactment at the Deane Center, the Laurel Concert Series, and more.
Then on Friday, June 19th the famous Arts and Crafts Fair began on The Green which included an International Street of Foods. The 32 Queens from different Pennsylvania towns were welcomed on Friday afternoon followed by a special concert performed by Los Blancos at the Deane Center.
On Saturday, June 20th there was the annual 10K Foot Race and 2-Mile Fun Run at Packer Park while the shopping and international dining continued throughout the day on The Green.
Then at 2:00 PM Saturday afternoon the Pennsylvania State Laurel Festival Parade took place on Main Street in Wellsboro. That’s where our Wellsboro Home Page video coverage begins today followed by the Coronation of the 2015 Pennsylvania State Laurel Queen.
We hope you will enjoy today’s Laurel Festival feature. Please share it with friends and family by emailing a link to Wellsboro Home Page or through your social media. Special thanks to Andrew Moore, Morgan Koziar, Lauren Gooch, Drew Patrick, Rhonda Pearson, Sara Vogt, and all the Home Page staff and sponsors for making this year’s coverage possible. Today’s broadcast was paid for by Indigo Wireless and The Fifth Season. Our air coverage for this event was handled by Remote Intelligence with quadcopter launching accommodations and strategic planning sessions made available by the historic Penn Wells Hotel.
