The 31st Annual Dickens of a Christmas!
It’s time for the 31st annual “Dickens of a Christmas” celebration! Today on Wellsboro Home Page, we spoke with the Chamber of Commerce Events Coordinator, Lauren Morral, about the vendors, crafts and special performances that will be downtown for your enjoyment.
“Dickens of a Christmas” will begin Saturday, December 6, 2014, at 9:00 a.m. Dickens is about creating and enjoying a Victorian marketplace in beautiful downtown Wellsboro. Last year, over 175 craft and food vendors presented their homemade and handcrafted goods. The streets will be closed to traffic for shopping and performances.
The Dickens Players are a group of strolling performers who will entertain shoppers with Christmas readings, costumes and carols. They will be performing at the Gmeiner Art Center at 12:30p.m. Hamilton Gibson Productions will also present “A Christmas Carol” at the Arcadia Theater several times throughout the day. Several other musical groups and the Wellsboro Men’s and Women’s Choruses will be downtown.
