The Sylvania Lions Club held its first meeting of the year at Mt. Pisgah State Park. It was a beautiful summer day. Twenty-four members and nine guests were present. A dish to pass dinner was enjoyed by all.

Dean Haven was presented with an award for 55 years of service.

Eric Roloson will represent the Sylvania Lions at the North Central Sight Services 38th Annual Lions Appreciation night on September 13 to be held at the the Nomad Distillery in Williamsport, Pa.

Donations were made to eight people in need.

The club will be selling barbecue chicken on September 10 and October 1 at two locations in Troy.

The next meeting will be on September 8. The club will meet at the Iron Skillet at 6 p.m. for a meal and then go to the Community Hall for the meeting.
