Students Step Into Happiest Place
On Wednesday March 11th, Blossburg Elementary School held Disney Family Night from 5 to 7:30pm. The theme for the evening was, “Where Magic Will Happen and Dreams Will Come True”. The school was decorated into a new and magical place, which included all of the doors, ceilings and walls being decorated in theme as well as lights and music playing to set the ambiance.
To add to the magic of the evening all of the teachers, staff and volunteers were dressed as different Disney characters. Prizes were given out throughout the evening as students, family and community members moved from station to station throughout the school to create, make and design different hands-on activities.
Blossburg Elementary students in grades 4, 5, and 6 were the creators and facilitators of the stations. Science teacher Jeannie Herres and Library Media Specialist Sarah Murray, talked about how students gave their recess time and also had “working” lunches over the past several weeks in order to prepare for this night. Herres went on to state, “It has just been the most exciting week here at Blossburg Elementary because it is the most magical place there is”.
Special thanks to the families, students, teachers, and anyone else who helped make Blossburg Elementary School Disney Family Night a magical evening and an amazing success!
