Today’s broadcast helps us get ready for one of the most exciting events of the year. The 49th Annual Tioga County Fair officially begins on August 10th. This year’s entertainment includes John Berry, Axe Women, Big Tiny Young, Penny Eckman, Michael Blaine, Penn Dixie Band and the Greenwood Valley Boys. There will be a number of superb events taking place this year along with great food and fun for all ages. On Sunday, August 9th, the pre-events will feature an open horse show, rabbit show, and the Tioga County Fair Queen Contest. The crowning of this year’s Fair Queen takes place at 6:00 PM.

On Monday, August 10th, this year’s Tioga County Fair officially begins at 9:00 AM sharp and continues through the day with a number of special events. Many of these Monday events are FREE, so bring the entire family for a great time! At dusk, on Monday night the FIREWORKS begin. What a fantastic way to kick off the opening day of the Tioga County Fair. As the week continues, other exciting events take place. Along with the County Fair comes the 36th Annual Tioga County 4H & FFA Junior Livestock Sale and Milk Auction – and that’s our focus today on Wellsboro Home Page. We get a chance to visit with several of this year’s participants. These young people have worked hard getting their animals ready for the big show and auction that takes place on August 15th. Kaycee Kaltenbach, Deb Bieser, Darby Kasper, Jesse Quick, and Janna Quick tell us about their animals and what will take place on auction day.

The Junior Livestock Sale and Milk Auction will take place on August 15th, beginning at 3:00 PM. That’s when all of the terminal projects go into the show ring and bidders will enthusiastically bid on the animals. This is a perfect opportunity for you to come and bid on the selection of over 200 animals that will be auctioned that day. Most of the money will go to the exhibitors, while some will aid the upkeep and maintenance of the fair grounds. We hope to see many of our Home Page viewers at the this year’s Tioga County Fair, and don’t miss the auction on August 15th!
