Spirit of Women – Strong Moms

Ladies strengthen core at UPMC Susquehanna event

by Sara Vogt - April 19, 2019

Are you a mom under the age of 45 who would like to strengthen your core muscles? UPMC Susquehanna is presenting the event, STRONG MOMS.

Vice-President Sara Vogt spoke with the Spirit of Women Outreach Program Co-ordinator, Tonya Welshans to find out the details about this Sunday afternoon event being held on April 28th, from 1 PM to 3 PM at the Deane Center, in Wellsboro.

Tonya stated that ” We want it to be an encouraging environment where you can ask questions and where we can support each other and that is extremely important to what Spirit of Women is all about.” She went on to say, ” I am in this age group and I think that a lot of women our age deal with issues that are very sensitive and maybe feel like that they have to live with them. At this event, we are going to have professionals that can explain maybe why they are having these issues and more importantly how they can help.”

This afternoon event will include refreshments, shopping, presentation, and exercises.

The presenters will be Women’s Health Specialists Brook Patt, MSPT and Barbara Rouse, MPT, OCS. After the presentation, those who attend will have time to ask these professionals questions about their health concerns. Brook and Barbara will also be showing exercises to strengthen our core so wear comfortable clothes and bring a mat.

Don’t miss this Spirit of Women event focusing on proactive health education for your generation. Invite a friend to come along for this refreshing, informative, fun occasion.
