Small-town band, Billtown dreams!

by Joe Carreon - March 17, 2014

The Hyatt Howe Band is comprised of members Kevin Hyatt, Tom Howe, and Dave Loomis, who have each been involved in music most of their lives. They use their musical journeys and experiences to craft a solid, unique sound based on pop, rock, R&B, and blues elements. Kevin writes the band’s original material and produces the published music.

Tom’s musical background begins with formal degrees in music, and over the course of his career he has earned stage time with Ella Fitzgerald, Ed Shawnessy, David Samuels, Carman Appice, Spice of Life, Chapter 6, and a regional Jazz Band.

Dave’s musical background also begins with a formal degree in music. As a percussion artist, Dave has performed with the Williamsport Symphony.

Kevin’s musical background has early roots in country and rock. He traveled the world during his enlistment in the U.S. Navy, performing as lead guitarist with the companies of two ships. Kevin’s musical résumé includes stage time with many North American rock and blues artists, most notably his brother, Kene.

The band is eagerly preparing for the Billtown Blues challenge taking place this weekend. The Billtown Blues Association is dedicated to providing opportunities for area residents to experience blues music, to producing quality performance opportunities for national, regional, and local artists who have a devoted interest in this music, and to preserving blues music’s status as a valued American art form, by educating interested members and non-members about the blues.

This concert is sure to have something for everyone and is an opportunity for blues fans to come together for a great day of fun and music.

The Hyatt Howe band will be performing March 21st at 8:00 p.m. at West’s Lounge in Mansfield, as well as at the aforementioned Billtown Blues Challenge at the Genetti Hotel in Williamsport at 6:00 p.m. on March 23rd. For additional information on the Hyatt Howe band and their upcoming performance at the Billtown Blues challenge, log on to billtownblues.org, or visit the band’s Facebook page at facebook.com/hyatthoweband.
