Towanda senior Kennedy Heyer put up 2.2 ppg, 1.5 spg, and shot 28% from the 3-point-line during her final season with the Lady Knights basketball team.

According to Coach Rob Gentile, however, Heyer’s biggest value to the team can’t be measured in stats. He said “Her value comes in her effort, attitude, toughness, and just being a great teammate. Her presence in [the] pressure defense created opportunities for others to really succeed.”

Home Page Correspondent Erik Berggren met with Heyer earlier in the year to go “Around the Paint” and learn a little more about her, both on and off the court.

The Lady Knights’ final record this year was 18-7, having won the regional championship at the Josh Palmer Holiday tournament in Elmira, N.Y., finished second in the NTL Large school division, and made it to the NTL Showdown Championship.
