Senior Night belonged to the Towanda Lady Black Knights on Tuesday, Feb. 10, as they delivered a dominant 50-21 victory over the North Penn-Mansfield Lady Tigers.

Before tip-off, Towanda honored its two senior leaders, Kennedy Heyer and Brynn Woodruff, in a pregame ceremony. Once the ball went up, the Black Knights quickly turned the celebration into a statement performance.

North Penn-Mansfield struck first when Kameron Lightener grabbed an offensive rebound and scored, but Towanda responded immediately. Payton Perry sparked the offense with an aggressive drive and assist to Mya Maynard, then closed the first quarter by jumping a passing lane for a breakaway layup. Towanda led 15-5 after one.

The Lady Tigers tried to rally in the second quarter with another inside score from Lightener, but Towanda’s defense clamped down. Heyer found Woodruff for a three-pointer, and Perry added another fast-break basket as the Black Knights surged to a commanding 36-7 halftime lead.

North Penn-Mansfield showed fight after the break, with Lightener setting up Elaina Shaw for an outside bucket. Still, Towanda maintained control as Woodruff sliced through the defense and fed Karis Flynn inside.

The Black Knights never let up, cruising to the final buzzer to secure the decisive Senior Night win.

With the win, Towanda not only celebrated its seniors in style, but also showcased the balanced scoring, defense, and teamwork that defined their season.
