Run Past Cancer 5K & Fun Run

by Beth Mossman - October 18, 2019

The Run Past Cancer 5K “is a fun event for all individuals to help raise money to end this terrible disease of cancer,” said Terry Borneman, event chair.

The event will take place on Saturday, October 26, beginning at Smythe Park in Mansfield. The 1 mile fun run will begin at 9:30 am, and the 5K walk/run will begin at 10:00 am.

Participants are encouraged to come in costume, although they are not required. Costumes will be judged for best dressed, funniest, scariest, most unusual, cutest, best fictional character, best group and coolest celebrity. Awards will also be given to the best overall male and female; 1st, 2nd, and 3rd are awarded in the children’s run, 19 & under, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, and 60+.

In addition to these prizes, each participant will also receive a goody bag and a coupon for a free small ice cream cone from Peggy’s Candies and Gifts. Many other businesses donate gift certificates to be raffled off to participants.

Individuals can register at Wild Asaph Outfitters in Wellsboro, Oswald Cycle Shop in Mansfield. The cost is $25 for the 5K, and $15 for the 1 mile fun run, with a maximum fee of $30 for a family.

Sponsors for the event are always welcome. If your business would like to participate, please contact Terry or Kristina at the numbers below.
