Road to Recovery
The road to recovery after an illness or injury can feel like an overwhelming challenge. But Susquehanna Health is changing that. In our region, we are blessed to have both physical and aquatic therapy from Susquehanna Health. They offer a full range of comprehensive therapy services. Their locations are beautiful, well equipped with the latest rehab equipment, and convenient to all in our community.
Their facilities are impressive, but the real reason for their rehabilitation success is their staff. They are a very close-knit group of dedicated people who work together with the patient’s best interest in mind. These professionals focus on putting broken lives back together. The broad range of services at their many locations enables them to do this effectively. “When they walk out of here better than when they came in – that’s the best part of my job,” says Susquehanna Health physical therapist Jessie Hamilton, DPT.
Susquehanna Health Rehabilitation Services include speech, occupational and physical therapy. Their aquatic therapy “takes the weight of the world away.” says Hamilton. “Buoyancy allows patients to rehabilitate without the stress of body weight on joints and muscles. They can perform a number of rehab exercises to strengthen their bodies and restore a wider range of motion in the pool, safely and efficiently. Aquatic therapy allows the Susquehanna Health rehabilitation staff to help you back to normal life faster.
Susquehanna currently has four outpatient rehab locations: in Knoxville, at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, on Route 6 in Wellsboro and their brand new facility in Mansfield. The new clinic in Mansfield also includes a netted area to rehabilitate “throwing” athletes, as well as a balance machine.
On today’s feature broadcast, Home Page talks with some of the patients who have experienced rehabilitation services at Susquehanna Health and hear about their success stories.
