The Relay for Life will be taking place this Saturday, August 28th from 10:00am to 4:00pm at The Green park in Wellsboro. This event is hosted by the American Cancer Society every year to raise funds for cancer research and provide housing and transportation for cancer patients.

Normally a luminaria dedication coincides with the event, but due to pandemic precautions this year’s service will not be held in an effort to protect cancer patients involved. However, on September 25th a small luminaria gathering will take place.

“The greatest way to support the Relay for Life is to build your own team…or come by The Green on Saturday and everybody will have a booth set up where they’re selling things, and all the money will go to the Relay for Life,” said Heather English, team captain for PRSM Healthcare Relay for Life team.
