Shown are (from left to right) Ronnie McDonald, Grant Simpson and Dave Gilfillan of North Sea Gas.

At 7 p.m. this Saturday, May 14, North Sea Gas will sing three-part harmonies and play a variety of instruments in the Deane Center’s Coolidge Theatre at 104 Main Street in Wellsboro.

The trio’s musical skill coupled with their tongue-in-cheek humor and sense of fun has garnered positive reviews as they tour the world.

One of Scotland’s most popular folk bands, they are from Edinburgh and began their current USA tour on May 5.

Dave Gilfillan, one of the founding members of North Sea Gas in 1980, sings and plays guitar, banjo, mandola, bodhran, foot drum, harmonica and whistles. Ronnie “Mac” MacDonald, who joined the group in 2002, sings both lead and harmony vocals and plays guitar and bouzouki. Grant Simpson a band member since 2006, sings harmony and plays fiddle, guitar, bouzouki and mandola.

This concert is BYOB so bring beverages and snacks. Admission is $25.
