Pietropola Eclipses 1,000 Point Mark
Wellsboro Senior Guard Michel Pietropola became the seventh Hornet to score over 1,000 career points in the Hornets’ 59-34 victory against Northeast Bradford on Friday, January 16.
Pietropola needed 24 points coming into the game to reach the milestone, and wasted little time in doing so. Pietropola dominated the first half as scored 16 points as the Hornets took a 37-21 lead at halftime.
Pietropola scored five points in the third before scoring the final three points midway through the fourth quarter. Pietropola took a handoff from Senior Kieron Smethers and unleashed a long three-pointer giving him exactly 24 points on the night.
Pietropola joins the likes of Phil Hickey, Ryan Callahan, Bud Albee, Dustin Smith, Will Osgood, and Jake Coolidge as the only Hornets to reach the mark.
Wellsboro Home Page would like to congratulate Michael on his achievement, and thank him for all his hard work and dedication during the year.
