Owlett Announces $200,000 in State Funding
HARRISBURG – Rep. Clint Owlett (R-Tioga/Bradford/Potter) announced today that the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources has approved two Community Conservation Partnership Program (CCPP) grants totaling $200,000 for projects in Canton Borough, Bradford County, and Wellsboro Borough, Tioga County.
Canton Borough will receive $40,000 for improvements at War Memorial Park that include renovation of the tennis and basketball courts, construction of pedestrian walkways, installation of play area safety surfacing and kiosk, ADA access, landscaping and other related improvements.
Tioga County will receive $160,000 toward the purchase of approximately 2.8 acres of land in Wellsboro Borough for the development of a trailhead for the Marsh Creek Greenway and Pine Creek Rail Trail.
“Both of these projects will create additional family recreational opportunities in which to gather and enjoy the great outdoors,” said Owlett. “I am happy to see this funding going toward projects that will only add to the impressive portfolio of outdoor amenities we have in the 68th District.”
The CCPP program provides financial and technical assistance to local governments, river and trail organizations, land trusts, and other nonprofits for planning, acquisition and development of park, recreation, conservation and greenway projects.
