NCA Celebrates 40 Years

by Home Page Staff - April 8, 2019

On Friday, April 5th, New Covenant Academy in Mansfield celebrated its 40th anniversary with a benefit banquet and auction. The event included dinner, music, and a live and silent auction. The special guest speaker for the evening was Thomas Putnam. Many alumni also attended to reunite and commemorate their place of learning.

“Tonight is a night of celebration,” said NCA Headmaster, Bruce Reagan. “It’s not just a banquet, it’s not just an auction. It’s a celebration of 40 years that the school has been in existence and 40 years of graduates who have graduated from here and have done amazing things. And they continue to do amazing things, not only in this area, but throughout the country.”

The proceeds from the night’s event will go towards a project to construct a new community playground next to the school facilities. Funds will also support a new science lab for the high school, security measures, and refurbishment of the campus.

“It really helps the school, again, continue and do what it was called to do,” said Reagan. “And that’s to touch the hearts and lives of children and young people for Christ.”

Pennsylvania State Representative and NCA alumnus, Clint Owlett, also attended the event and confirmed the impact the school made on his life.

“I really enjoyed going to school here,” said Owlett. “I graduated in 2001 and have been involved in the school ever since. It’s great to be here tonight to celebrate 40 years of this school and the ministry here at New Covenant Academy. Two hundred and fifty people coming out to a benefit banquet is pretty remarkable for this town and this school.”
