MU Students Partner With Area Organizations to Host Easter Event

by Andrew Moore - April 14, 2022

Students from Mansfield University’s Public Relations Workshop class are partnering with area organizations to host an Easter weekend event on April 16, 2022 at Island Park in Blossburg. Local communities are invited to attend “An Egg-cellent Community Adventure,” which will include an Easter egg hunt, photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny, face painting, healthy snacks, games, prizes and more!

Mansfield University seniors Courtney Walczak and Sydney Breen are currently enrolled in the public relations workshop that is spearheading the event.

“[This class] focuses on gaining a real life experience, more hands-on doing research, working with a team,” said Walczak. “Experience going into the work field…this kind of prepares you for real life situations in working with real clients.”

Recently, the class has been working with Partnership for Community Health in researching and addressing vaccine hesitancy in Tioga County.

“We’re trying to increase the vaccination rate, as well as kind of learn about what reasons why people might be hesitant towards getting the vaccine,” said Breen. “We created an online survey that we sent out to get thoughts and feelings on COVID-19 throughout the county…we used that survey to further our campaign ideas and decide what we want to do about our event coming up.”
