Movin’ Together – The Gift of Time

One of the most rewarding gifts we can give is time

by Morgan Koziar - December 22, 2016

Movin’ Together started in January 2016 introducing the healthy-tool-basket! We all need excellent tools in our basket to be successful. For women, these tools equip us for nurturing and caring for ourselves and those we love. The tools we acquire become more powerful when they become a part of our daily routines! Encouraging women to be their best, feel their best, look their best and give their best to others is a big part of what Movin’ together is all about.

During the Christmas season, we often ponder on which gifts will best suit our friends and loved ones. Our heavenly Father sent the greatest gift of all, Jesus, His son. We found Him in a manger. God’s perfect gift gives each of us the opportunity to know His love and to spend time with Him. Our heavenly Papa not only loves us beyond measure, He always has time for us. He is always there for us. He promises never to leave us or forsake us.

Following God’s example of giving, the ninth tool in our healthy-tool-basket is time. Time is one of the most loving gifts one can give to others. Time to talk, time to listen, time to share, time to laugh, time to cry, time to pray, time to love and encourage others. Have you ever considered giving the gift of time? Time is one of the most valuable gifts of all. We often find ourselves caught up in our everyday routines in life, and sometimes forget to look around and enjoy the moment we are living in with the ones that we love.

None of us knows how much time we have on this earth. When loving and serving others it’s easy for us to put things off until a more convenient time presents itself. And then we often get busy with life and the next thing you know, we forget, and the opportunity we had to love someone passes by.

Scripture explains how important it is to invest time in those who have invested in us! Romans 12:10 says, “Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.” Spending quality time with friends, family and those in need can be one of the most rewarding fulfillments in life. Time provides a platform for us to connect with others and creates strong, healthy relationships. We are grateful to be surrounded by our family during the holidays. Many of us cherish Christmas traditions and memories with our families throughout our lifetime.

On today’s broadcast, we had the opportunity to visit wonderful people at the Shared Home in Wellsboro. Roger Butler, Dot Dibble and Doris Morral, residents of the home, shared their memories and favorite songs of the season. Another resident, Bernice Superko, Sara’s cousin, also shared with us. “I am happy to have the support of my family,” she said, during our time with her.

During this Christmas season, we encourage you to give the gift few of us seem to have these days, the gift of time.

Next month, Movin’ Together will be doing a special feature on how to schedule our time. Don’t miss it!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from all your Home Page family!
