Movin’ Together – Salad Up!
During our life challenges, we will grab a tool for relief. How does that tool benefit us temporality or permanently? Each month on the Movin’ Together broadcast we are presenting a healthy tool for us to add to our lives that will help us to handle the stresses of living in a better way!
This month our tool of the salad is enhanced by the varieties of oil, vinegar, and spice found at the Main Street Olive Oil Company on Main Street in Wellsboro, PA. The owner of the shop, Lori Beckwith, has a degree in nutrition which equips her to understand how vital the cold pressed oils are for a healthy diet. To retain all their flavor, aroma, and nutritional value cold pressed oils are not subjected to damaging chemicals or heat. A healthier choice!
When Home Page correspondent, Lauren Gooch asked Lori how many types of olive oils they sell, she responded, “We feature about 40 different olive oil varieties in our store right now, both flavored and unflavored.
When you go into the store, you will be able to sample them to find your favorite. For this feature, Lori prepared a few salads for the Movin’ Together team to try (yum)! View the video to see the creative suggestions that made them so tasty and healthy!
When asked by Home Page correspondent, Sara Vogt, what other oil they sell that is cold pressed Lori answered, “We have avocado oil, and avocado oil is another great health benefit, just like the olive oil, it is cold pressed. It has a mild flavor, so it enhances the balsamic vinegar in the salad.”
Both avocado and olive oil have a very similar fatty acid composition with over 70% of monounsaturated (healthy) fat. Avocados are rich in thiamin, riboflavin and vitamin A, while olive oil is a rich source of anti-inflammatory antioxidants.
We will be giving away three baskets to help us enjoy our salads – each basket has oil, vinegar, and spice of your choice!
To all ladies, e-mail the correct answer to the following question below to sara@thehomepagenetwork.com. All of the correct entries will be entered for the opportunity to win one of the three baskets in a drawing taking place on Friday at 4 pm. Don’t forget to tell your friends so that they can join in on the fun too!
What oil did Lori tell Sara about that is cold pressed like olive oil and tastes great on a salad?
We look forward to giving away these baskets to enhance our healthy eating sponsored by The Main Street Olive Oil Company and Movin’ Together.

About Sara Vogt
Relationships are the foundation of our lives, and through Movin’ Together I hope to encourage women to strengthen their relationships with God, families, friends, and those they meet on this journey called life.
After I graduated from college with a degree in Medical Technology, my first lab position was in my hometown of Wellsboro, PA at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital. I worked in that profession for years before I transitioned into communications at the Christian radio station where my husband John was the manager. I really enjoyed my afternoon drive time announcer position, interviewing authors, musicians and politicians! ( And especially working with John.)
While working at the radio station I was encouraged by Jeannie Blocher of Body and Soul to join an exercise class. Eventually I became a certified instructor for them encouraging women to enjoy movement. Looking back on my life, I am so grateful that God led me first to my medical career, then into communications and eventually fitness. During our challenges, we will grab a tool for relief. How does that tool benefit us … temporality or permanently. Each month in Movin’ Together we are presenting a healthy tool for us to add to our life that will benefit us! I was re-certified recently with the American Council on Exercise with a personal trainer certification. Their slogan is ‘Make Movement Your Mission.’ Their passion for movement seemed to fit with our mission in Movin’ Together. Movin’ Together is to encourage women of all ages to be their best, look their best, feel their best and do their best for others. Not to impress but to bless.
“A strong woman does not let anyone get the best of her but the woman of strength gives her best to everyone.”
About Lauren Gooch
I am currently a senior at Susquehanna University majoring in Marketing and Advertising Communications with a Business Administration minor. I have worked at The Home Page Network for 4 years now, and am so grateful for the second family it has given me. As a correspondent, my favorite part is working with the local businesses and giving them the opportunity to share their brand story through creative slogans, commercials, interviews, and marketing techniques.
Through Movin’ Together, we hope to encourage others to be their best in order to bless others. When we feel our best, we are able to give our time and talents to better serve God and other people in our lives. My dream is to one day be an inspirational speaker to encourage others to seek their passion, pursue their purpose, and live their lives for Christ. God has done so many incredible things, and we hope to share His light with the world.
When I’m not on camera, I enjoy many other hobbies including music, public speaking, writing, scrapbooking, and photography. At Susquehanna, I enjoy being a tour guide for the Susquehanna University Admissions office, creating advertising as the Editor for Sigma Alpha Iota Professional Music Fraternity, leading a large group each week for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, and serving as the Vice President of Omicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership honor society for juniors and seniors.
I am excited to see all that we will accomplish through The Home Page Network, with God’s hand leading us through each day. Thank you for being a part of our journey and we hope you will keep moving through life with us!
