Mounties Pin Down the Hornets, 53-14
On Thursday, December 19 the Wellsboro Hornets hosted the North Penn-Liberty Mounties on the wrestling mat.
To start off the night, weighing in at 160lbs – Riley Oakes pinned Silas Mickey, 2:38 into the second.
At 172, Cameron Caldwell brought down Gavin Carson in the third period by technical fall.
Next, at 189 Ryder Bowen narrowly defeated Easton Pequignot with a last minute reversal, winning by decision 11-6.
At 215 Evan Ingerick pinned Gavin Stubblefield in 1:04.
At 285, Braden Route brought down Hayden Stevens late in the third, 18-3.
After a couple of forfeits, at 121 Bryce Pequignot pinned Vincent Arena 2:35 into the second period.
Again, after a couple more Wellsboro forfeits, at 139 Brayden Pequignot pinned Mason Nowak in the second round.
At 145 Brady Bower sent Reed Richardson to the mat, winning by fall – 2:17 in the second.
A forfeit closed out the night with the Mounties on top, 53-14.
