Meet the Mansfield Garden Club!
Downtown Mansfield is in bloom thanks to nearly 20 planters that are cared for by the Mansfield Garden Club. Ashley Dzuiba, President and Kim Craig, Vice President of the Garden Club, explained that the organization has been in existence since June of 1960. Membership started with 18 members and now has 27 members.
Many of the members choose to be responsible for one of the planters throughout the business district of Mansfield. The member selects what to plant and cares for the planter throughout the season. By watering, dead-heading and keeping the planters full, the Garden Club member welcomes all who visit the business district with their beautiful plants and flowers.
New members are always welcome. As a member, you are asked to attend at least 3 of the 9 meetings a year, participate in activities such as the annual plant sale and pay annual dues of $15. If you are interested in learning more about the Garden Club and membership, email the membership chairperson, Janet Metello at jmetallo1@yahoo.com.
