Canton senior Alexis McRoberts was recently nominated for national recognition in the Youth Athlete of the Year program. In the past year alone McRoberts was awarded with all state honors in football as the Warrior’s kicker, track, and soccer with the Troy Lady Trojans. She also played a part in the Canton Lady Warriors basketball team earning a state tournament berth earlier this year, an achievement that hadn’t been seen in the program since 2002. Troy Home Page Managing Director Erik Berggren recently met with McRoberts to learn more about her run for Youth Athlete of the Year.

The second round of voting will end Thursday, Aug. 14th at 10 p.m. If she succeeds in landing a spot in the top 15, a third round of voting will determine the winner.
