May the Horse Be With You
Through the many years the Vogts have had many pets such as birds, cats, dogs, and guinea pigs – oh, and a few gold fish. Those relationships have proven to be a blessing for our family to learn and grow together. While on a family trip to Washington, DC, Johanna had the opportunity to make some new friends – horses! But the possibility of caring for horses is a new level of learning for us! Instead of just saying no to the idea, we decided to get some answers as a family. We wanted to know more about horses and the care that they would require.
On today’s feature, we make a trip to the Drew Quarter Horse farm to talk with Sue & Lee Drew and their daughter, Patti. Sue and Lee shared about the family farm and the services they offer for the community. We learned that quarter horses are one the most versatile breeds, and work very well with children. Patti Drew graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Equine Business Management and a Bachelor of Science in Equestrian Studies, Western Training emphasis. She gave Johanna a lesson – you can watch it too in the video above!
