Uncover Ancestry Clues in Knoxville
Researching your family’s origins can be a rewarding journey when you uncover clues revealing the mysterious lives of your ancestors. The History Room and Museum at the Knoxville Public Library houses thousands of items, each with a story to tell. Find where the family farm was on insurance maps, read hand written histories in family bibles, or peruse church, cemetery & undertaker records searching for distant relatives.

This unique library was incorporated in 1956 as a charitable organization and specifically included a provision for a local historical museum in it’s Articles of Incorporation. The expansive collection at 112 East Main Street has been compiled from numerous sources but initially began as a small lending library at the Knoxville Presbyterian Church in 1888.

This year, Harvard University’s acceptance rate is 4.59%. This fall, Jillian Graver from Wellsboro High School is going to be a part of that percentage. On today’s broadcast, Jillian expresses that she is hungry to learn more, and she wanted to challenge herself. Visiting and applying to Harvard wasn’t her first inclination, but as soon as Jillian stepped foot onto the campus, she fell in love.

“Never in a million years did I think I would be accepted,” she stated. But she proved herself wrong. She also shared she is most excited about meeting her future classmates. “[During] an admitted students weekend, I got to meet so many awesome and amazing, interesting people – and I’m just excited to be able to do that for the next four years,” said Graver.
