Laurel Health – Health Insurance Help
Carla, a Certified Application Counselor for the Affordable Care Act (ACA), is an advocate for the individuals she serves, working with patients seeking insurance either through the Marketplace or the Pennsylvania Medicaid program. She also provides patients of the Laurel Health Centers with guidance in obtaining discounted or free medications through pharmaceutical company assistance programs with Rx Assist.
For anyone in the area needing insurance coverage—which includes both Laurel Health Center patients as well as members of the general public—Carla collects family size and income data to see if they qualify for state-based insurance. Documentation needed includes a recent tax return, W-2 form, 1099 form or Social Security benefits statement.

Emergency 101 – Grill Fire Dangers & Safety
According to the United States Fire Administration (USFA), food grill fires result in an estimated average of 10 deaths, 100 injuries, and $37 million in property loss each year. In fact, from 2006 to 2008, an estimated 5,700 grill fires on residential properties occurred annually in the United States and more than one quarter of home fires are started by outdoor grills (National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). Grills can be extremely dangerous, but they don’t have to be. Don’t take risks, keep yourself and your loved ones safe when using a grill. Choose to be safe.

C&N Bank – Giving Back, Giving Together
C&N has always believed that the economic vitality of our local communities is the lifeblood of our institution. That’s why we continue to stay deeply involved with our communities, providing support in many different ways. So much so, that we created a brand new program in March 2015 to take this commitment to a whole new level. We call it “Giving Back, Giving Together,” and it’s done just that and more.
Our team members are kind, generous, good-hearted people and they were just itching to do something miraculous for their communities! So we developed Giving Back, Giving Together to bring focus to our internal charitable efforts and make a substantial impact to one important cause. For its first year, we decided to address the problem of food insecurity in our area, named our program “Giving Back, Giving Together,” and things took off from there.
