Community Gathers to Protect Children
Tioga County Family Services filled the Green in Wellsboro on Saturday (29th) with all sorts of family fun! From face painting to the bouncy house, prizes and games to free food, the Event On The Green was the place to be. The department team planned this event to put a cap on their schedule for April, as April is “Child Abuse Prevention Month”. Family Services extended an invitation to organizations and services throughout the local area to provide information about the help they provide, as well as entertainment for the children.

MU Psych Central – Sleep Deprivation Crisis
Sleep is wildly under-rated in the U.S. We sacrifice sleep at the expense of work, fun, and the demanding pressures of daily living. Sleep, however, should be taken more seriously as a necessity that contributes to our optimal functioning. Sleep allows our body to recover from the wear and tear of stress, physically, mentally, and psychologically. Without it, we suffer. We forget. We can’t learn. We cannot operate productively, or creatively. We risk developing physical illness, and are more prone to injury. Lack of sleep decreases life quality and longevity.

Brave Volunteers of Liberty
The Liberty Volunteer Fire Company is made up entirely of brave volunteers. They respond to emergencies such as structure fires, car fires, wild fires, medical calls, and rescues within the Liberty Borough, Liberty Township, and Jackson Township. Additionally, they assist with calls in Blossburg, Morris, Canton, and Trout Run. The station averages about three calls per week.
We are so grateful for our volunteer firefighters and their continuous acts of bravery, and we pray for their safety. Remember to thank your local firefighters and EMTs!
