Mounties face ESU on Senior Night
Senior Tianna Jackson knocked down four 3-pointers on Senior Day and Brielle Kelly put up 20 points and 15 boards, but it would not be enough at Mansfield fell to visiting East Stroudsburg 68-61 Saturday afternoon on Senior Day at First Citizens Community Bank Court at Decker Gymnasium.

In the men’s game, Malik Carter and Matt Tamanosky combined for 46 points to lead Mansfield to an 86-81 win over East Stroudsburg. The contest also marked Senior Day with senior Da’Quan Jones honored during pregame ceremonies.

On the Radar – Scam Protection
Fraud costs Americans billions of dollars each year. Scams and fraud are also one of the most reported crimes and most requested informational topics.

Many are familiar with this scam in which a caller purports to be from the IRS advising that you owe money and it needs to be paid immediately. They often request personal information such as Social Security number or your Social Security Number. They may threaten you with police action if payment is not received immediately.
Be aware that the IRS will serve you notice via mail for any outstanding debt and they will always provide you with the opportunity to appeal that debt. Also, they will not threaten you with police action.

Mansfield Library Hosts Tasty Fundraiser
By far, their tastiest campaign is coming on Saturday, March 11. The library will host a Chicken BBQ, beginning at 10am. Chicken will be sold for $7.50/half, but pre-orders can be placed in the library for $7.00/half. Tshe sale will be taking place in from of the library on Main Street. The sauce is being made by local legend, Arnie Brion, and the Chicken is sure to sell out quickly!

Award-winning Social Worker Shares Her Passion
Throughout the month of March, the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) is celebrating Social Work Month 2017 with their “Social Workers Stand Up” campaign.

For over 25 years, oncology social worker June Zimmerman has done just that. As a member of the Cancer Care Team at UPMC Susquehanna Cancer Centers, June has joined her team members to bring hope and healing to patients and their families.

In January, June was one of six outstanding individuals honored with the American Cancer Society Lane W. Adams Quality of Life Award, a prestigious national honor for their leadership in serving the complex needs of cancer patients and their families.

Tigers Win District Title Game!
The North-Penn Mansfield Tigers faced off against Northeast Bradford at Decker Gymnasium in the PIAA District IV Class AA championship game. The Tigers claimed the victory and brought the hardware home to North-Penn Mansfield High School.

North-Penn Mansfield will enjoy their District 4 triumph, but only briefly as they now set their sights on the state tournament. They hope to make a run deep into the tournament, and the first step towards that goal will be winning their next matchup against the third place team from District 9.
