Tigers fall in NTL Showdown title game
The North Penn-Mansfield Varsity Boys Basketball team fell to rival Wellsboro 58-42 in the NTL Showdown finals on Saturday, February 11.

“Hats off to Wellsboro. They were 20-for-20 from the line, made six three’s and did a good job controlling the ball,” said head coach Kipper Burleigh. “We had to go man and couldn’t get it from them, so hats off to them.”

Burleigh led the Tigers with 17 points, Kelly had 10, Joel Whitteker finished with 4, Derrick Herbst, Konnor Manikowski, and Nick Kasper all scored 3 points each, and Dylan Meyer had 2.

Keeping Love Alive: Happy Valentine’s Day!
It is Valentine’s Day and across our country, and throughout many parts of our world, it is a time to celebrate love and romance. For some, this will involve a gift of flowers or a heart-shaped box of chocolates; for others, a romantic dinner for two, or perhaps a card or a poem or time spent together holding hands on a quiet walk. Multitudes of meaningful ways exist for us to express our love for one another.

On this special day, John and Sara are taking the opportunity to celebrate their love and to reflect on the amazing journey of their marriage of forty-five years. It is also an opportunity to focus on the ways they have chosen to keep their love alive—for each other, and for their family. It is a journey that has involved continuous growth, devotion, faithfulness, and a willingness to learn, day by day, how to love each other more.

Mounties edged by Bloomsburg, Double Header
Tianna Jackson’s potential game-tying 3-pointer at the buzzer for Mansfield fell just short as Bloomsburg escaped a raucous Decker Gymnasium with a 69-66 PSAC East win Wednesday night.
The Lady Mountaineers outscored Bloomsburg (9-14, 8-11 PSAC) 58-49 over the final three quarters, but could not overcome a 20-8 first quarter deficit.

In the men’s game, Bloomsburg used a 10-0 run over the final two minutes of the game to pull out an 81-77 win over Mansfield in a critical PSAC East contest Wednesday evening on First Citizens Community Bank Court in Decker Gymnasium.
Mansfield trailed 71-67 with just over six minutes to play when the Mountaineers used a 10-0 run, started by a 3-pointer by Andreas Katopodis and ending with a Matt Tamanosky free throw, to take a 77-71 advantage with just over two minutes to play.
