Liberty Volleyball Sweeps Wellsboro

North Penn-Liberty swept rival Wellsboro in NTL Large School Division volleyball action on Friday, October 18.

The win also wraps up the third straight league championship.

Liberty took the first set 25-13 then rallied to win the second set 25-20, after tying the set up at 20-all. Liberty then went on to win the third 25-12.

Charisma Grega had 9 points, 11 kills, 4 blocks, and 8 digs to lead the Lady Mounties. Maddison Minyo had 8 points, 13 kills, and 9 digs, Julia Nawri had 11 points and 14 assists, JoAnne McNamara had 10 points and 14 assists, Lizzi Welch added 7 blocks, and Ali Koval had 5 points, 20 serve receptions, and 17 digs.

Caitlyn Callahan led the Lady Hornets with 14 kills, Megan Starkweather had 11 assists, 16 digs, 6 kills, and 2 blocks, Ryann Adams had 22 digs and 5 points, Breighanna Kemp had 9 assists, 3 points, and 2 blocks, Kathryn Burnett had 7 points, and Bailey Monks had 2 kills and 3 blocks.

The win improves North Penn-Liberty to 15-0 while the Lady Hornets fall to 15-3. Both teams are back in action on Tuesday, October 22. Liberty is on the road at Williamson and Wellsboro hosts Northeast Bradford.
