Liberty volleyball sweeps Athens
North Penn-Liberty volleyball continues to dismantle their competition in the 2018 season. The Athens Wildcats were their most recent win as the Lady Mounties swept them 3-0 on Thursday, October 11.
Liberty too the first set 25-12. The jumped out to a 13-7 lead during the second set, but the Lady Wildcats battled back to tie it at 13-all before Liberty pulled away for a 25-19 win. The Lady Mounties then coasted in the third set, 25-10, for the sweep.
To date North Penn-Liberty has yet to drop a set in regular season play since September 26, 2017 when they beat Wyalusing 3-1.
Brooke Harvey led the team with 3 aces, 20 points, 12 kills and 13 digs; Maddison Minyo had 2 aces, 5 points, 12 kills, 1 block and 3 digs; Savannah Doney added 2 aces, 9 points, 18 receptions and 10 digs; Charisma Grega had 6 aces, 8 points, 5 kills, 11 receptions and 9 digs; Mariah Kshir had 4 aces, 11 points, 1 kill and 12 assists; and JoAnne MacNamara had 1 kill and 16 assists.
Kayleigh Miller 6 assists for Athens. Mimi Martin had 9 digs, 6 assists, and 5 points while Paige McCarty chipped in with 6 points and 7 digs.
The win improves the Lady Mounties’ record to 12-0 overall and 10-0 overall in the NTL Large School Division. The team is back in action next Tuesday, October 16 against Canton.
