Laurel Festival 2017 – Pet Parade

Families & furry friends proceed down Main Street

by Sara Vogt - June 12, 2017

The 2017 Pennsylvania State Laurel Festival Pet Parade began at Packer Park with families and pets gathered for the judging to begin at 12:30 pm. Horses, cats, dogs, and goats, were just some of the animals dressed in their best!

Home page correspondents, Sara and Julianna Vogt were able to meet many of those who participated. (Quite Fun) Sara spoke with a local resident who was born during the Laurel Festival in 1985 hence her parents named her Laura, She was accompanied by her great dane, Tao, the state dog. Both the Laurel Festival and the State of Pennsylvania were covered with their participation.

The parade started from the park and continued down Main Street to the Green where all of the awards were given to those who won. Julianna spoke to Sarah and Rosalind who rode their horse Lighthing and were awarded Best In Parade. She also spoke with Melyia Bartlett who won Overall Best in Parade.

The event was fun for those who participated and for those who lined Main Street to watch!
