Largey Film Packs Deane Center

by John Vogt - May 27, 2019

We will never forget the sacrifice made by those who have gone before us. Freedom is not free; it has been bought with a price. The sacrifice made by many is incalculable. Hundreds of thousands paid for our freedom with their lives. Today is Memorial Day 2019. This is the day on which those who died in active military service are honored and remembered. It’s also a time to pray for, and thank our Gold Star military families.

This past Friday evening, area residents packed the Coolidge Theater at the Deane Center in Wellsboro to view a historic film documentary titled PEOPLE OF HONOR – THE GREATEST GENERATION Directed by Gale Largey. On today’s broadcast, we hear from many of those who came together to sponsor and promote this unique film which honors what many agree to be the greatest generation. We find out more about why they did it and what makes this Gale Largey film so important. Mountain Home Editors and Publishers Michael and Teresa Capuzzo opened the evening.

During the second half of today’s broadcast, Home Page Correspondent Olivia Ryan visits with several who attended this remarkable and historic event. Please take a few moments to watch today’s feature.

Thanks again to Gale Largy, Mark Polonia, Mountain Home Magazine, KC101, Goodies for Our Troops, The Deane Center and the many area businesses and contributors that made this special evening possible. Please see the full list below. Finally, thanks again to our Gold Star Families who have lost loved ones for the sake of freedom. We ask God’s comfort and blessing upon them.
