Lady Warriors Run Past Lady Mounties, 45-17

by Ed Weaver - February 9, 2022

A 24-4 second quarter run by the Canton Lady Warriors propelled them to a 45-17 NTL Small School Division win over North Penn-Liberty on Tuesday, February 8.

Things started slow for both teams, but after the first quarter came to a close, that saw Canton leading 6-5, the Lady Warrior offense exploded for 24 points to put them up 30-9 at halftime. Canton cruised in the second half, outscoring the Lady Mounties 15-8 under the mercy rule.

Emmie Tymeson led all scorers with 18 points, including 3 three-pointers. Molly Ward and Kendall Kitchen added 8 points apiece.

Jacelyn Nelson and Elizabeth Ritchie had 5 points each to lead North Penn-Liberty.

The win improves Canton to 11-8 on the year and 7-5 in the NTL Small School Division while North Penn-Liberty falls to 5-12 and 4-8 in the league. Canton travels to Cowanesque Valley on Thursday and North Penn-Liberty travels to Sayre.
