The Troy Lady Trojans defended their home court on Friday, December 12, earning a decisive win over longtime rivals, the Canton Lady Warriors. The matchup showcased Troy’s aggressive offense and stifling defense, leading to a 43–22 victory.

The Lady Warriors opened the night with determined play, pushing back against Troy’s pressure. Canton’s Cailyn VanNoy sparked early momentum with a steal, finding Stella Rockwell, who completed a give-and-go with Danah Wesneski for a fast-break layup.

Troy answered quickly. Kyah Renzo controlled the paint before launching an outlet pass up the court to Isabella Renzi, who finished the play with a layup while drawing a foul to give the Lady Trojans the edge. Renzo continued to facilitate the offense, later kicking the ball out to Giana Renzi at the top of the key for a deep three-pointer.

By halftime, Troy had built a commanding 24–12 lead.

The Lady Trojans maintained their intensity in the second half, with Giana Renzi knocking down another three. Isabella Renzi followed suit, burying a long-range shot of her own to extend the advantage. Canton continued to battle, as VanNoy came up with another steal and converted along the baseline, but Troy’s defense proved too strong to overcome.

When the final buzzer sounded, the Lady Trojans sealed a dominant 43–22 win.

Canton returns to action tonight on the road at Meadowbrook Christian, while Troy will travel to face Northeast Bradford on December 17.
