Lady Mounties sweep Troy
The North Penn-Liberty volleyball team remained undefeated on the 2018 season as they swept Troy 3-0 on Thursday, September 13 at home.
The Lady Mounties were in cruise control early on as they took the first set 25-5 then won the second 25-11. Troy battled back to try and force a fourth set, but were unable to do so as North Penn-Liberty won 25-17.
Brooke Harvey led the North Penn-Liberty with 4 points, 11 kills, 8 receptions and 10 digs and Savannah Doney followed with 5 aces, 14 points, 1 kill, 13 receptions and 5 digs. Charisma Grega had 6 points, 5 kills, 6 receptions and 10 digs; JoAnne MacNamara added 3 aces, 11 points, 19 assists and 3 digs; Mariah Kshir had 5 points, 2 kills and 10 assists; and Maddison Minyo had 6 points and 3 kills.
For Troy, Caitlyn Hoffmann had 3 points, 1 ace, 2 kills and 1 block, Autumn Gilbert scored 3 points, and Emilie Cole had 1 point, 5 kills and 5 digs.
The win improves the Lady Mounties to 3-0 overall and 3-0 in the NTL Large School Division on the year. The team will be back in action next week as they travel to Elmira on Monday, September 17 for a non-league game.
